I flooded our fire bellied toad tank on Friday so that they only had the tip of their highest rock above water and switched their spotlight back on and heres the result....

Theres two blobs of spawn in the pic, one on the left and one on the right, theres loads more in their aquarium.

Hopefully I will be able to track their development in pictures :D :D :D

and one for the album....

Notice how its gone from a dot to something with a basic head and eyes in a day! soon it will dissapear to the bottom of the tank to absorb its yolk sac before reappearing on the side of the tank (hopefully) a few days later... fingers crossed.

The water is 10" Deep, Ok so heres clumpy on day three, hes doing better than I had imagined. He has absorbed his yolk sac and is now taking his first short bursts in the water. Stopping to rest on the side of the tank or stones, He will now start to graze on microscopic algae once the yolk sac is completely gone. The growth he has gone through has been quite rapid this should have taken about a week.

You probably wont see him in the first two, hes the grey strip in the middle of each shot....

Here he is closer up.......
