It was showbiz and glamour for some of our animals on sunday, well sort of! Myself and Dan (aka Livefoods by post spiderman) travelled to london with 10 of our tarantulas as they were required for filming a horror movie!
We recieved an e-mail from producer Mumtaz Yildirimlar from M.Y. Production Ltd. who needed some spiders to complete shooting of his latest film "Quanna". And never wanting to turn down an opportunity to get out and about we gladly offered our spidery services.
An interesting day was had trying to make 5 juvenile red rump tarantulas walk and run in the same direction at once, but after four hours of manipulating them and 30 minutes of footage was shot, the crew were happy that they had what they needed for the 5 second insert shot! I never realised just how much went into making a film!
So anyone interested in buying a film star we now have 9 minor arachnid celebrities! We are of course going to keep one for ourselves - and whats it goingto be called "Quanna" of course!
