Just an idea, would there be any interest for a monthly reptile group meeting type of thing on the Island? We are going to be getting some extra space soon and it would make an excellent little meeting area, had a basic thought that it would be a good idea for like minded people (pet wise that is) to meet up once a month and share experiences, advice, natter etc etc. With a small entrance fee of course to cover the tea and biscuits! Let us know what your thoughts are...
Plus all the non Isle of Wight residents reading this, let us know what goes on at your meetings so we have an idea of where to go with this idea!

We have a group meet in Essex once a month. ERAC, Essex Reptile and Amphibian Club.
They organise some sort of presentation for every group night.
One of the members who is a specialist in something will stand up and do a presentation followed by a Q and A session.
such as
Thursday 11th October 2007- Beginners Reptiles - Questions and Answers by Glenn Cousins
Thursday 8th November 2007 - Talk on Monitor Lizards by Peter Clark and Talk on Hibernation Techniques by Steve Latford
With your knowledge and your stock it should be a piece of cake to get off of the ground, then once it builds there will be others who are knowledgable to run sessions.
The topics will come up natuarally, people will ask for things.
Good Luck, wish I lived on the Island.
PS, got my delivery of Crickets today Neil thanks.
